About BTDC

BTDC is a multi state Cooperative society, which opens its area of operation to the most vibrant and tourism potent states of Karnataka, Goa and Kerala,. Its head Office at Mangalore. It is our modest claim that BTDC is one of the pioneering attempts in India to establish, develop, and promote tourism business upholding the cooperative principles. BTDC intends to promote tourism and hospitality services based on pure Indian culture. It strives to protect the interests of its members and society and aims at social and economic betterment of Mother India. We endeavor to make tourism a social activity which enables every common man to engage in tourism activities in an affordable way. BTDC with the maxim "Atithi Devo Bhava" encapsulates the high honor and hospitality that our society accords to the guest and travelers. A major shortcoming in the efforts to promote tourism so far has been the inability to adopt an integrated approach. BTDC with a cooperative and coordinated approach among the neighboring states aspires to make a good tourism experience available and affordable to as many Indians as possible including other travelling guests too. Principally, BTDC desires to accommodate and cater to the much ignored Indian middle-class domestic tourists by providing them memorable holiday experience and contribute in the nation building process by tapping the huge tourism potential of the country.

What we intend to do..

Bharathi Tourism Development Co-operative Ltd., as mentioned earlier, is registered under Multi-state Co-operative Societies Act - 2002 and is head quartered in Mangalore. The following are the main proposed activities of BTDC.

• To provide tourist guide services.
• Liaison and Collaborating with resorts, hoteliers, travel agents, tour operators and other professional organizations to make available various tourism facilities at affordable levels.
• To bring out brochures, pamphlets, maps, and other promotional materials for use by and to educate tourists.
• To set up tourist information counters at major tourist centers to provide assistance to the clients of BTDC.
• To open handicrafts and souvenirs shops for the sale of handicrafts and local artifacts to visiting tourists.
• To operate sight seeing tours of different durations from and to Karnataka, Goa and Kerala.
• To provide Car rental / Taxi services for tourists at affordable rates.
• To organize traditional music, dance, drama and other art forms for the interest of both tourists and local artists.
• To furnish updated information through electronic media like website detailing the services offered by BTDC and thereby highlight the tourism avenues in, Karnataka, Goa and Kerala
• Promote Farm tourism, Spiritual tourism, Yoga, Meditation, Ayurveda etc. offering suitable packages to potential tourists.
• To focus on adventure tourism activities including trekking, rock climbing etc. for youth and interested thereby stimulate their intellect and understanding.
• Develop Eco-tourism centers at the scenic spots identified by BTDC, especially in Karnataka and Kerala.
• Operate religious package tours from and to Karnataka, Goa and Kerala during important religious festivals and special occasions.
• To popularize the local cuisine and traditions for visitors and promote harmony, cultural understanding, socio-economic well being of all.
